Roger Kampa, 68

Roger Kampa, a resident of Sartell and formerly of Foley, died unexpectedly Monday, March 19, 2012, at the St. Cloud Hospital.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 23, 2012 at St. Louis Catholic Church, Foreston. The Rev. Leo Moenkedick will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 9 Thursday at the Foley Funeral Home in Foley and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Arrangements were made by the Foley Funeral Home.

Roger Kampa was born June 14, 1943, in St. Cloud, to Benedict and Helen (Petrowski) Kampa. He married Marie Yetzer June 12, 1965, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Milaca. He lived most of his life in the Foley area and attended Foley High School. Roger worked as a self employed milk hauler for many years before going to work for Bauerly Brothers, now Knife River, where he drove truck for 44 years. He enjoyed going to the casino, camping and fishing and spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed outdoor grilling.

He is survived by his wife, Marie of Sartell; daughters, Laurie Kampa of St. Joseph, Tina Kampa of Rice, Kim (John) Kipka of Sauk Rapids and Amanda Kampa of Sartell; five grandchildren, Sasha Kampa, Taylor Kipka, Tanner Kipka, Cole Kampa and Bryce Kampa; great- granddaughter, Amariana Wimberly; brother, Richard (Mary Ellen) Kampa of Foley; sister, Lois Marsh of Monticello and his loyal dog, Teddy.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Edna Mae Jenson.
