There’s a new retail shop in Little Falls and it’s full of bargains. It’s just what the discerning shopper has been looking for.

Secret Treasures, owned and operated to two women who love to shop and love to find a good deal, opened Wednesday. Amy Wentland and her mother-in-law Linda Wentland, are both looking forward to showing off their wares.

Secret Treasures opened in Little Falls Wednesday by Amy Wentland, left, and Linda Wentland. They are looking forward to filling their shop with great deals for their customers. “This is different from anything else in Little Falls,” said Amy. Pictured above is the main room, the first thing a customer will see when entering Secret Treasures. They will also be greeted by a framed message, left, “Welcome to Secret Treasures.”

“We always shop together,” said Amy, who lives in Royalton. “We wanted to open a business that incorporated what we love to do, and that’s shopping. It also gets me out of the house.”

Amy said she and Linda both love to find a good deal. In the past, the two women would call each other when they discovered one.

“I found a treasure today,” they would say to each other. Hence, the name of the shop, Secret Treasures.

When taking that first step into the shop, located at 116 East Broadway across from Pete and Joy’s Bakery, a customer is greeted by the smell of clean. The Wentlands said the shop is not infused with any scents, it’s just the natural smell of a clean store.

Linda, who lives in Holdingford, was a homemaker her entire life. She is married to Dale and they have three children.

“I am ready to run a business,” she said.

Amy has three children with her husband Scott.

“I graduated with a business degree in 2011, and then worked at Rasmussen College for a year in its financial aid department. I discovered I didn’t want to spend my working life looking at a computer,” she said.

The Wentlands have filled their new shop with all new, but discounted, inventory. That includes hand bags, home decor, clothing for all ages and sizes, including maternity, toys, books, basic tools, jewelry, fragrances and more.

The two shop owners said  they have been welcomed by the other store owners in town, solidifying their idea that Little Falls was the perfect place to open Secret Treasures.

“We were told our shop is exactly what was needed in town,” said Amy.

Secret Treasures is open Wednesday, from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Thursday from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. They will be open the first two Saturdays of every month from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

The grand opening of Secret Treasures was Saturday, March 31.

“We are closed the rest of the week so we can go shopping for these great deals,” said Amy. “There will always be something different in Secret Treasures.”
