Going up against some of the toughest competition it will face all season, the Upsala-Swanville Area (USA) boys and girls track and field teams opened their seasons several high finishes in the Huskies High School Classic St. Cloud State, Saturday.
Freshman Stephanie Koetter was the top performer, earning second place in the long jump (14-feet, 8.5-inches) and fifth in the high jump (4-feet, 8-inches).
Freshman Brooke Westrich came in fourth in the 200-meter dash in 29.24 seconds and freshman Danica Cheney took sixth in the long jump (13-feet, 1.5-inches).
The 4×100 relay team of sophomore Amanda Rieffer, Koetter, freshman Danica Hanson and junior Marissa Evans earned seventh (58.74).
On the boys side, junior Eric Frieler posted the best performance, taking fifth in the 800 (2:16.1) and junior Milo Koubsky placed seventh in the long jump (17-9.75).
