Antoinette M. Bednar, a resident of Genola, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at her home in Genola. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m.. Monday, April 2, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Pierz, with Father Gerald Dalseth officiating. Burial will take place in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls, at a later date. Friends may call from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Sunday, April 1, at the Shelley-Virnig Funeral Chapel in Pierz and from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Pierz. Christian Mothers rosary will be at 4:30 p.m. and Parish Prayers will be said at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel.
Antoinette M. Bednar was born Oct. 26, 1943, in St. Paul, to the late Anthony and Ida Sauer. She married Kenny Bednar Feb. 6, 1961, at St. Joseph’s Church in Pierz. The couple resided in Oxnard, Calif., until they moved to the Pierz area in 1975. Antoinette worked for Horizon Health for several years. She enjoyed the casino, Las Vegas and spending time with her grandchildren. Antoinette also enjoyed playing scrabble and cards.
Antoinette is survived by her daughters, Denise Bednar of Rosemount and Kim (Perry) Wuellner of Rosemount; and son, Joshua (Jessica) Bednar of Hillman; grandchildren, DeAnna Wuellner, Noah Wuellner, Ava Bednar, Isaac Bednar, Macallister Bednar, Oliver Bednar and Charlei Bednar; sisters, Jackie (Waldo) of Inver Grove Heights and Teddy Braun of Hampton.
Antoinette was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Bednar; and parents, Anthony and Ida Sauer.
