Emma Popp, 97
Funeral services were held March 26, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in St. Cloud. Emma was born July 3, 1915 in Elmdale, to George and Anna (Weiner) Schneider. She married Raymond Popp June 15, 1937, in Buckman. Emma was a homemaker and baked wedding cakes for 74 years. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. Emma was an avid gardener who loved wildflowers and shared her plants and flowers with others. She enjoyed cooking, reading, traveling in retirement, sharing a cup of coffee with family and friends, and the simple things in life, particularly a good brush fire.
Survivors include daughters and son, Elaine Rhode of Shoreview, Milton (Marlene) Popp of Rice and Terry (Duane) Sakry of Clear Lake; nine grandchildren, Dawn (Dave) Gustafson, Todd (Pat) Rhode, Joel (Patrice) Rhode, Troy (Debi) Popp, Wendy (Dave) Reisem, Allison (Sam) Stone, Nick (Jennifer) Sakry, Ben (Jean) Sakry and Liz (Caleb) Haase; and 27 great-grandchildren.
Emma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond; son-in-law, Wesley Rhode; five sisters and 12 brothers.
