Kalis named BSU Player of Week

Little Falls graduate Logan Kalis, a junior at Bemidji State University (BSU), was named the Beaver Pride Male Athlete of the Week for March 19-25.

Kalis improved his pitching record to 2-2 on the season with a 7-3 victory for the BSU baseball team March 25, as he went the full seven innings in the first game of a doubleheader at Concordia University, St. Paul.

He allowed two earned runs on four hits for a 2.57 earned-run average.

Kalis posted six strikeouts and issued just one walk to 24 CU batters, holding the Golden Bears to a .167 batting average in the game.

Each of the four hits he allowed were singles in his first complete game of the season. He threw 80 pitches, 56 for strikes, in the win.

Kalis also had four hits in 11 at bats for a .364 average against Concordia hit .364 (4-for-11) against CU with two runs scored two walks and an RBI. Playing left field, he totaled two putouts and one assist.

The BSU baseball team now has a 10-8 overall record and a 3-1 mark in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
