Baseball: Defending state champion Cathedral shuts out Pierz in opener

The Pierz baseball team opened its season with a home match-up against defending state champion St. Cloud Cathedral, Tuesday.

The game was close early before the Crusaders began pulling away, winning 11-0.

Junior Ben Boser collected the lone hit for the Pioneers.

Pierz returns to the field with a home game against Little Falls, Thursday.
