Four days after losing 30-0 to the Royalton softball team, St. John’s Prep had the misfortune of having to play the Royals again Tuesday.
It wasn’t as ugly, but the Royals still breezed, winning 18-7 in five innings.
St. John’s pitchers had more luck finding the plate, but couldn’t keep the Royals from storming the base paths, as Royalton collected 18 hits.
Junior Kalee Petron and sophomore Jacquline Nichols each led the team with four.
Petron doubled and scored three runs while Nichols tripled, homered, scored four times and drove in three.
Sophomore Katelyn Kasella and freshman Haley Olson added three hits apiece, with Kasella scoring three times.
Olson started on the mound, working the first two innings before leaving due to an injury suffered on offense.
Senior Amy Vannurden didn’t allow an earned run in three innings of relief.
Royalton travels to defending Class AA state entrant Albany, Thursday.
