Eleanor Muehlbauer-Boltz, 85

Eleanor Muehlbauer-Boltz, a resident of Harding, died Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.

A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, April 14 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Harding, with Father David Maciej officiating. Burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Monday, April 16. Friends may gather from 9:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. Saturday, April 14, at Holy Cross Church in Harding.

Eleanor Muehlbauer was born Oct. 19, 1926, to the late Stanley and Theodora (Liszewski) Stegora. She grew up and attended school in Harding. Eleanor was united in marriage to Leo Muehlbauer at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Harding. The couple made their home in St. Cloud for several years. The couple then moved to Minneapolis. Leo died Oct. 28, 1973. Eleanor continued living in Minneapolis after Leo’s death. She was united in marriage to Vernon Boltz in Little Falls. The couple lived in Minneapolis,  until retiring to Harding, Vernon died in 2009,  and she continued living in Harding until her death. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Harding. Eleanor enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, casino, sewing, gardening and baking especially her poppy seed coffee cakes. She also grew her own apples for apple crisps and pies. Eleanor loved the coffee and doughnuts once a month after church in Harding.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Elizabeth “Betty” Beck and significant other Bill, Dianne Muehlbauer, Gerald (Pamela) Muehlbauer, Marlene Muehlbauer, Marilyn Muehlbauer, Rosemary (William) Thomas and Arlene Muehlbauer, siblings, Dorthy and Bernice; 13 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Theodora Stegora; two husbands, Leo Muehlbauer and Vernon Boltz; son, Allen Muehlbauer and a grandson, Allen Muehlbauer; siblings, Marie, Rose, Margaret, Frances, Sylvester, Stella, John, Stanley, Helen and Raymond.
