Upsala-Swanville Area (USA) had no trouble getting runners on base, but was limited to two runs again in a 4-2 loss to Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa (BBE), Thursday.

BBE jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first, but the Patriots responded with a run in the first and second innings to tie the score.

The visiting Jaguars regained the lead with two in the fourth and held on for the win.

Juniors Brock Cichon and Nick Frieler and Lampert each had a pair of hits for USA.

Junior Tren Dinius added a double and an RBI.

“Some games you score nine runs on just three or four hits and then you get nine hits plus several other balls that were crushed and we score only two,” USA head coach Ken Solarz said.

USA hosts Eagle Valley, Tuesday, plays at Browerville, Thursday, and at Pillager, Friday.
