Royalton man charged for making terroristic threats
Brian Michael Chavez, 23, Royalton, was charged in Morrison County District Court with one felony count of terroristic threats: reckless disregard of the risk of causing such terror.
On March 25, a deputy from the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office received a report that Chavez was allegedly sending threatening text messages to the victim.
On March 28, Chavez was located and served with an Order For Protection. Chavez was asked about the text messages but reportedly did not want to discuss them. He was then placed under arrest for making terroristic threats and transported to the jail.
If convicted, Chavez faces a maximum penalty of five years imprisonment and/or a $10,000 fine.
