Ground broken on new facility at Camp Ripley

The Minnesota National Guard Facilities Management Office and Donlar Construction Comapny of St. Cloud, have broken ground on an Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) facility at Camp Ripley.

“This is just one more example of how Camp Ripley continues to expand its facilities to meet the growing and ever changing needs of the Minnesota National Guard and other entities of the United States Armed Forces,” said Maj. John Donovan a spokesperson for Camp Ripley.

The Facility will provide Camp Ripley the ability to train larger and more sophisticated Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV). Cost of the facility is approximated at $3,900,000 and is expected to be completed in October 2012.

Individuals with questions about the UAS facility may contact the Camp Ripley Public Affairs Office by calling (320) 616-3122.
