Track and Field: Holdingford girls sweep relays in home tri

Holdingford hosted a tri against Albany and Fergus Falls, Thursday, with the girls team taking eight events and the boys winning four.

The girls team swept the four relays, with first-place teams of junior Kaitlin Preusser, seventh grader Jo Merten, eighth grader Alli Ruprecht and freshman Emily Wolter in the 4×800-meter (10:26), freshman Amanda Grebinoski, eighth grader Rachael Preusser, senior Sam Prokott and junior Kara Fiedler in the 4×200 (2:01), Grebinoski, seventh grader Kailee Heinen, senior Teia Koopmeiners and Fiedler in the 4×100 (56.88) and sophomore Abby Mokhtary, Merten, Kaitlin Preusser and Wolter in the 4×400 (4:35.1).

Earning individual wins were Mokhtary in the 1,600 (5:42.1), senior Chelsea Gerads in the shot put (33-feet, 10-inches) and eighth graders Summer Storm in the 300 hurdles (53.67) and Sunni Ebnet in the high jump (4-feet, 2-inches).

Taking first for the Huskers boys were juniors Kyle Kolstad in the pole vault (10-feet, 6-inches) and Cody Schwinghammer in the long jump (18-feet, 6-inches), freshman Grant Bullert in the 110 hurdles (18.5) and the 4×100 relay team (49.5).

Holdingford hosts another meet, Tuesday.
