After a back-and-forth start to Tuesday’s game against Sauk Rapids-Rice, the Little Falls baseball team used a six-run fourth inning to create a gap the visiting Storm could not recover from, winning 10-5.
Little Falls jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first, but Sauk Rapids scored three runs in the second to go up 3-2.
After the Flyers tied the score in the bottom of the inning, Sauk Rapids regained the lead with two more in the third.
Little Falls got one back in the third to pull within 5-4 and used a double play to stifle a threat in the top of the fourth.
Sauk Rapids loaded the bases with no one out in the seventh, but Little Falls junior Spencer Fenske worked out of trouble to close out the win.
Seniors Joey Hanowski and Mitch Gregory and juniors Matt Stumpf, Collin Eckman and Fenske each collected two hits to power the balanced attack.
Hanowski doubled twice and scored three runs and Fenske doubled and knocked in a pair.
Junior Gabe Ploof worked the first four innings to pick up the win, surrendering only one earned run.
