Track and Field: Little Falls boys, girls ecplise Cathedral and Foley at home tri

It was an evening of domination for the Little Falls boys and girls track and field teams Tuesday, as each took first in the Flyers’ home tri.

The boys team pulled out firsts in nine events, while the girls posted the top mark in seven.

 

Boys results

Junior Garrett Horejsi swept the hurdles, winning the 110-meter (16.87) and the 300 (43.1), and junior Isaiah Korver took the 800-meter run (2:18.5) and triple jump 37-feet, 4-inches) to pace Little Falls.

Adding wins on the track were senior Preston Zimny in the 1,600 (4:47.2), junior Jared Rickert in the 400 (57.9) and the 4×400 relay team (3:43.37).

In the field, senior Derek Toso took first in the long jump (18-feet, 6-inches) and juniors Austin Bjorge and Jordan Petrone and sophomore Dan Mushel finished in a three-way tie atop the field in the pole vault (10-feet, 6-inches).

 

Little Falls sophomore Maria Hauer outpaced the field in the 800-meter run, Tuesday, winning the event in 2:35.7. Hauer also took first in the 1,600 and anchored the winning 4x400 relay team.

Girls results

Sophomore Maria Hauer led the Flyers, taking first in the 800 (2:35.7), 1,600 (5:40) and anchoring the winning 4×400 relay team led off by juniors Chelsea Rutz and Noelle Kurowski and sophomore Vanessa Meschke (4:36.5).

Also taking first were junior Amber Hines in the discus (113-feet, 11-inches), sophomore Rachelle LeBlanc in the pole vault (10-feet), Rutz in the 300 hurdles (51.7) and the 4×100 relay team of junior Trista Saulter, Kurowski, Hines and junior Emily Stark (54.8).
