Softball: Pequot Lakes edges Pierz in pitchers’ duel

Sophomore Tiara Hopkins allowed only three runs while striking out eight batters, but Pequot Lakes held off the Pierz softball team 3-1, Thursday.

Juniors Megan Boser and Miranda Woitalla each went 2-for-3 to lead Pierz at the plate.

Junior Anna Welle drove in Boser in the sixth inning for Pierz’ lone run in the game.

Pierz plays at Eden Valley-Watkins, Monday.
