Baseball: Fenske fires gem as Little Falls edges Princeton 2-1

The Little Falls baseball team prepared for its clash with top-ranked St. Cloud Cathedral with a tight 2-1 win at Princeton, Tuesday.

The Tigers got on the board first with a run in the fourth and had a chance to add on with a runner at third and only one out, but junior Collin Eckman recorded an unassisted double play to end the frame.

Little Falls came right back with a run in the fifth as Eckman drove home senior Tony Arnold with an RBI triple, then took the lead in the sixth when senior Luke Thoma brought in senior Matt Valentine with a sacrifice fly.

Junior Spencer Fenske went the distance on the mound for Little Falls, striking out five.

The third-ranked Flyers host St. Cloud Cathedral, Thursday.
