A Mass of Christian burial celebrating the life of Arnold G. Soltis, was held Wednesday, April 18, at the Church of All Saints – St. Hedwig, with Father Robert Rolfes officiating. Burial took place in the parish cemetery following the service.
Arnold was born April 28, 1921, to George and Cecelia (Heisick) Soltis in Des Moines, Iowa. He grew up on a farm near Holdingford and lived his entire life in the Holdingford area. Arnold married Corrine Schneider Aug. 25, 1952, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Holdingford. Arnold grew up working on a farm, but after attaining his teaching degree from St. Cloud State University, he worked as a teacher in the central Minnesota area, a police officer for the city of Holdingford and was also a co-owner of Kraemer-Soltis International Harvester until finally retiring in 1975. Arnold was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and All Saints Catholic Church in Holdingford.
Arnold is survived by his children Mary Soltis, of Sitka, Alaska, Kathy (Greg) Waletzko of Holdingford; John Soltis, Holdingford, Patrick (Julie) Soltis of Hoschton, Georgia, Nancy (Ron) Stewart of Elmdale and his eight grandchildren Susan, Tim, Michael, Breeanna, Abria, Mackenzie, Samantha and Jake.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Cecelia Soltis; his siblings, Laverne “Red” Soltis and Georgia Arradondo and his loving wife, Corrine Soltis.
