Bob Harmsen of Scandia Valley, has announced he will run for the Morrison County Commissioner seat for District 1.
He and his wife, Rose, have owned property in Morrison County since 1986. He has served on the Scandia Valley Township Board for nearly eight years, and currently is chair of that board. Harmsen has 26 years of management experience in business, has supervised as many as 33 agents and three office administrators during his 36-year career in the insurance business.
Harmsen is a member of the National Rifle Association (NRA), the Minnesota Patriot Guard and First Lutheran Church. He is a past chaplain for the Fraternal Order of Eagles 622, past president of the Fishtrap Lake Owners Association, past president of the Minnesota Darkhouse and Angling Association and a past member of the Governor’s Board for Health Care Delivery in rural Minnesota.
