Baseball: Little Falls 10, Zimmerman 1

Juniors Collin Eckman and Matt Stumpf each collected three hits as Little Falls won 10-1 at Zimmerman, Friday, improving to 8-0 on the season.

Senior Joey Hanowski added a pair of hits and drove in two runs and junior Spencer Fenske homered for the second consecutive game.

Senior Tony Arnold doubled, scored a run and picked up an RBI.

On the mound, junior Gabe Ploof scattered seven hits over five innings to earn the win, while junior Nathan Masog pitched two shutout innings to finish the game.

 

Boys Golf: Pierz placed fifth at RockfordCMCmeet

Dustin Herold shot a 43 and Michael Meyer carded a 45 as Pierz took fifth place at Friday’s Rockford Central Minnesota Conference meet.

Kyle Fuhrman (47) and Evan Woitalla (48) also scored for the Pioneers, while Matt Athman and Josh Rocheleau each shot rounds of 52.

 

Softball: Little Falls 7, Zimmerman 2

The Flyers used a four-run fourth inning to power their way to a 7-2 home win over Zimmerman, Friday, to remain unbeaten in Granite Ridge Conference play.

Chantelle Anderson and Jamie Jenks each collected three of Little Falls’ 10 hits, with Anderson scoring twice and Jenks picking up two RBIs.

Maykayla Jorgensen added two hits, Kala Bzdok doubled and Britian Conley reached base twice and scored a run.

Alea Cekalla allowed only one run over five innings to notch the win.

 

Albany Track and Field meet

The Holdingford girls and Little Falls boys took first place at Friday’sAlbanymeet.

Alli Ruprecht won the 1,600 (5:33.85), Summer Storm took the 300 hurdles (53.28), Chelsea Gerads earned first in the shot put (33-feet, 7.5-inches) and Emily Wolter won the 3,200 (12:04.3) to lead Holdingford.

Little Falls was led by a pair of wins in the field by Amber Hines in the discus (112-feet, 6-inches) and Rachelle LeBlanc in pole vault (10-feet, 6-inches) and the 4×100 (53.93) and 4×200 relay teams (1:56.19).

Makenna Peterson won the 200 (28.14) and Amanda Rieffer earned first in the high jump (4-feet, 6.5-inches) to pace Upsala-Swanville Area.
