With Pierz down to its final out, senior Logan Meyer came through with a clutch two-run single at Holdingford, Monday.

Then, Meyer slammed the door shut in the bottom of the seventh, striking out the side after a leadoff single to preserve a 3-2 come-from-behind win for the Pioneers.

Holdingford had just regained the lead in the bottom of the sixth when junior Ben Boser singled and junior Brad Meyer doubled to set up Pierz’ comeback.

Boser and juniors Jon Fuhrman and Cody Weiss each had a pair of hits for Pierz.

The Huskers were led by sophomore Jake Nelson, who went 3-for-3, and sophomore Cody Bialka, who reached base three times.
