With four teams grouped within a single stroke of one another, junior Dustin Herold and the Pierz boys golf team emerged at the top of the pack at Tuesday’s home Central Minnesota Conference (CMC) meet.
Herold finished just three-over-par with a round of 38, two shots clear of the nearest competitor to take medalist honors.
In the process, he helped lead the Pioneers to a three-way tie for first with Osakis and Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa.
Sophomore Evan Woitalla tied for the fifth-best individual score of the day with a 43 for the Pioneers.
Seniors Michael Meyer (46) and Kyle Fuhrman (47), sophomore Matt Athman (50) and freshman Josh Rocheleau (51) rounded out Pierz’ lineup.
Pierz competes at Kimball Area, Thursday.
