Track and Field: Gerads sweeps throws to lead Holdingford, Peterson and Hanson place second in field to pace USA at LPGE

Senior Chelsea Gerads took the top spot in each of the throws to lead the Holdingford girls to fifth at Long Prairie-Grey Eagle, Tuesday, winning the shot put (33-feet, 1-inch) and the discus (104-feet, 5-inches).

Senior Katie Posch added a second-place finish in the discus (103-feet, 10-inches).

The Huskers boys were led to a seventh-place team finish by runner-up performances from junior Kyle Kolstad in the pole vault (11-feet) and sophomore Brody Davidson in the 800 (2:04.78).

The Upsala-Swanville Area (USA) girls team came in ninth overall, led by second-place marks posted by junior Makenna Peterson in the triple jump (32-feet, 2.25-inches) and freshman Danica Hanson in the high jump (4-feet, 6-inches).

Sophomore Amanda Rieffer took fourth in the high jump (4-feet, 6-inches) and junior Emma Guthrie was sixth in the shot put (28-feet, 8-inches).

The Patriots boys were led by senior Callan Drill in fourth in the discus (109-feet), junior Milo Koubsky in sixth in the long jump (17-feet, 8.25-inches) and the seventh-place 4×200 relay of sophomore Joey Jensen, junior Jacob Opelia, sophomore Leo Serna and Koubsky (1:45.0).

USA competes at Osakis, Thursday, and Holdingford hosts a meet, Friday.
