Baseball: USA shuts down West Central 12-0

The Upsala-Swanville Area (USA) baseball team scored in every inning and senior Tom Ripplinger tossed his second consecutive one-hit shutout, leading the Patriots to a 12-0 demolition of West Central Area, Tuesday.

USA jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the first and didn’t look back in the five-inning road win.

Junior Colten Kruzel and sophomore Eric Lampert each had a pair of hits to lead the Patriots, with Kruzel recording two runs, RBIs and stolen bases.

Junior Tren Dinius reached base three times and drove in two runs, junior Andy Nelson scored three runs and senior Travis Schneider, junior Brock Cichon and sophomore Christian Pekarek also collected hits and scored.

USA hosts Osakis, Thursday.
