Baseball: CMC leader Maple Lake takes pair against Pierz

Central Minnesota Conference (CMC) leader Maple Lake used 26 hits to take a pair of games at Pierz, Thursday, winning 7-4 and 10-5.

The Irish jumped out to an early lead in the opener and then held off the Pioneers late, keeping the tying run at the plate in the seventh.

Junior Ben Boser went 2-for-4 with a run at the plate and threw 3 2/3 scoreless innings of relief.

Juniors Brad Meyer and Cody Weiss each went 3-for-4 with an RBI in the finale and junior Nick Lochner added a single and an RBI.
