In a match-up of the final two unbeaten Granite Ridge Conference (GRC), Thursday, Little Falls had an answer for every Mora rally, prevailing 10-8.
The two teams traded first-inning runs before the visiting Flyers jumped out to a 7-2 lead in the third.
Mora closed within 7-5 in the fifth, but Little Falls added those three runs right back to its lead in the top of the sixth.
The Mustangs pulled back within two at 10-8 in the bottom of the sixth, but couldn’t get any closer after sophomore Alea Cekalla came on to work two innings of scoreless relief.
Junior Jamie Jenks continued her tear at the plate, going 4-for-5 with two doubles and two RBIs.
Junior Chantelle Anderson went 3-for-4 and seniors Chloe Nelson and Alayna Kabanuk each added a pair of hits and two RBIs.
“This was a big game for us,” Little Falls head coach Ron Hinnenkamp said. “The girls showed they were up to the task. It was a slugfest, but we were able to keep answering when Mora scored.”
