Minnesota’s Poet Laureate reading in Royalton

Joyce Sutphen, poet laureate of Minnesota since 2011, will read her poetry selections at the Royalton Public Library Wednesday, from 7 p.m. – 8 p.m. This event is open to people of all ages, with a limit of 50. Preregistration is being taken through May 9 by calling the library at (320) 584-8151.
Sutphen grew up on her family’s farm in St. Joseph and is currently a professor at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, teaching a range of courses in poetry, British literature and creative writing.
In her role as Minnesota’s poet laureate, she serves as the primary spokesperson, supporter, and promoter of poetry in the state.
