Little Falls Community High School (LFCHS) named Frank Wilczek, left, and Jamie Jenks its March Athletes of the Month. Wilczek, a senior on the wrestling team, finished the season with a 40-4 record and led the team with 30 pins. A two-year captain, he was a section champ and qualified for state, where he reached the quarterfinals before getting injured. “He is arguably the best pinner Little Falls has ever had,” head coach Mike Hendrickson said. “He finishes his career with 147 wins and 117 were by pin. He was a four-time all-conference wrestler and a great student to boot.” Jenks, a junior on the girls basketball team, led the Flyers during some tough times when asked to fill in at point guard the final three weeks of the season, head coach Deb Yliniemi-Ahlin said. “She always came to practice prepared to work hard and improve in her new position,” Yliniemi-Ahlin said. “She was our go-to girl on the defensive end and we often looked to her to guard the other team’s ‘superstar.’” Jenks earned All-Granite Ridge Conference honors, led the team in assists and finished second in points.
