Baseball: Eckman, Hanowski drive in four apiece as Little Falls rallies past Melrose 12-6

Little Falls slugged their way out of a 6-3 hole against Melrose Area, Saturday, scoring nine unanswered runs from the fourth inning on to earn a 12-6 home win and remain undefeated.

Senior Joey Hanowski and junior Collin Eckman supplied the bulk of the offensive firepower, each reaching base four times and driving in four runs.

Eckman finished with three hits and a double and Hanowski homered.

Senior Mitch Gregory came around to score four times out of the leadoff spot, with seniors Michael Anderson, Tony Arnold, Michael Holthaus and Luke Thoma and junior Spencer Fenske collecting the Flyers’ other hits.

Junior Gabe Ploof allowed only one earned run over five innings of relief to record the win.

Little Falls hosts Becker, Tuesday.
