Softball: Boser belts three homers to break Pierz season, career records

Junior Megan Boser homered three times to set the Pierz softball program record for home runs in a season and career, Tuesday, as well as power the Pioneers to a doubleheader sweep over Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa.

Pierz fell behind 6-1 in the opener, but took control with a six-run fourth inning to take the lead and didn’t look back the rest of the night, earning 11-8 and 12-5 victories.

Boser went 3-for-3 with two home runs and three RBIs and junior Anna Welle and sophomore Tiara Hopkins added doubles in the opener.

Junior Miranda Woitalla went 3-for-5 with four runs scored while Boser hit her third homer of the night and drove in four runs in the finale.

Boser now has seven homers on the season and 13 for her career.

Pierz plays a doubleheader at Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted, Thursday.
