A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 14, at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Gilman, with the Rev. Leo Moenkedick officiating. Burial was in the St. Rita’s Catholic Cemetery, Hillman. Friends may call from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Sunday, at the Foley Funeral Home in Foley and one hour prior to the service at church.
Mildred Talberg was born Aug. 19, 1924, in Alberta Township, Benton County, to Ambrose and Catherine (Kantor) Dahler. She married Robert Talberg, June 24, 1950, and farmed in Hillman for several years. Robert preceded her in death. She then married Donald Talberg on June 28, 1988 in Houghton, Mich. The couple lived in Gilman for the past 24 years. Millie worked as a seamstress for Gorcki Manufacturing in Milaca for many years. She enjoyed sewing and always had a large garden and enjoyed old time music and attended many dances. She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, Gilman Senior Citizens and SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers.
She is survived by her husband, Donald of Gilman; sons, David (Karen) of Hillman, Mike (LaVern) of Buckman, Jim (Sandy) of Centerville, and Tim (Karen) of Elk River, sister, Lorraine Byzewski of Foley; brother, Delroy Dahler of Rice; step-son, Jerry Talberg, North Carolina; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law, Henry Byzewski and sister-in-law, Margaret Dahler.
