The 15 certified instructors of the firearms safety class and the 49 students who took and passed the class thank the generous sponsors of our program. National Police Week, May 13 – 19, is an important time to recognize the courageous men and women of our local law enforcement. These officers and deputies put their lives on the line on a daily basis to help protect others in the community and to keep us safe from harm. The Pierz baseball program would like to thank the Pierz Fire Department for their donation to the baseball program again this spring. The Rice Area Bloodmobile would like to thank the 118 potential blood donors who came to donate blood April 30 at Shepherd of the Pines Church, Rice. We met our goal of 110 units of blood. Without you, we couldn’t have had a successful blood drive.
