Little Falls built a four-run lead twice against Zimmerman, Thursday, only for the visiting Thunder to close the gap to one each time.

But the top-ranked Flyers didn’t allow Zimmerman to come all the way back, holding on for an 8-6 win to improve to 15-0.

The first four batters of the game scored for Little Falls on a two-run home run by senior Joey Hanowski, an RBI single by senior Luke Thoma and an error.

After Zimmerman closed within 4-3, Hanowski went deep for the second time and Thoma delivered a run-scoring double to push the lead out to 7-3.

Senior Mitch Gregory scored the Flyers’ final run on a wild pitch in the sixth.

Junior Gabe Ploof struck out nine over four innings to pick up the win for Little Falls, with Thoma closing out the game for the save.

Senior Tony Arnold doubled and scored a run, junior Matt Stumpf singled and scored and junior Collin Eckman reached base three times.

Little Falls plays at Mora, Tuesday.
