Little Falls School Board hears proposals on staff position reductions and transfers

The Board will vote at a future meeting

Interim Human Resources Director Rande Smith presented to the Little Falls Board of Education Monday the administrations proposed changes to certified and classified staff for the 2012-13 school year. The presentation was to inform the Board at this time only and it will vote on the final decision during a future meeting.

District-wide, Smith said Jeanyne Gomez will move to being a Title One lead teacher and Pam Czech, a special education teacher, will spend the mornings at Lincoln Elementary School and afternoons at Tri-County Community Action (TCC).

At the Little Falls Community High School (LFCHS), Tim Corbett’s remedial academic program was cut. He will move to the Little Falls Community Middle School (LFCMS) in the social studies department. Due to John Nagel’s retirement, Candace Hoff is moving to the LFCHS half time and to the LFCMS half time.

Anita Larson will move from the Continuing Education Center (CEC) to social work at the LFCMS.

Anne Horne will move from the LFCMS to the CEC language department.

At Lindbergh Elementary School, Jeremy Sladum will work full time in physical education; Kelly Gotfredson’s position will not be renewed; Robert Johnson will move to Lincoln as dean of students and as a member of the evaluation team; one section of kindergarten will be eliminated; a half time position will be shared across the elementary schools for a media specialist; and a .4 position will be added in physical education.

Kent Gomez will move from Lincoln Elementary School to Lindbergh Elementary as full time dean of students; Colleen Johnson will have a full time position at Lindbergh Elementary in the accelerated learning program; and Deb Lentner will teach first grade, replacing retiring Kathy Logan. Mark Fritz will move to Dr. S.G. Knight to teach third grade; Jennifer Fitzharris’ and Mindy Radziej’s contracts will not be renewed and Jodi Earhart is retiring.

At Dr. S.G. Knight Elementary School in Randall, Curtis Jendro will teach third grade at Lincoln Elementary; Melissa Berg’s position as a teacher’s assistant was cut; Tony Couture will teach physical education part time at Knight Elementary School and part time at Lincoln Elementary School; and Rachel Kerr will teach vocal music part time at Knight Elementary School and part time at Lincoln.
