Little Falls senior Brichelle Brummer turns on a pitch for a single during Tuesday's Section 6AA semifinal against Staples-Motley. Brummer had two hits in each of the Flyers' two wins Tuesday.

After taking down Ottertail Central, Little Falls rallied from an early deficit for the second game in a row to edge Staples-Motley 5-3 in Tuesday’s Section 6AA semifinal in St. Cloud.

Staples-Motley took advantage of two errors in the second inning to score all three of their runs and take a 3-1 lead.

However, junior Jamie Jenks took over in the next two innings, hitting a solo home run in the third and delivering a two-run single in the fourth to put the Flyers ahead 4-3.

Senior Holly Kampa knocked in an insurance run on a base hit in the seventh.

Jenks finished 4-for-4 and also scored twice.

Seniors Brichelle Brummer, Britian Conley and Kampa each contributed two hits.

Sophomore Alea Cekalla did not allow an earned run over seven innings to earn the win, giving up only three hits.

The Flyers advanced to take on Staples-Motley by slipping past Ottertail Central 4-3 earlier Tuesday evening.

Little Falls junior Jamie Jenks opens up on a delivery for a double during Tuesday's 4-3 win over Ottertail Central.

The two squads traded a pair of runs in the middle innings, leaving the game tied at 2-2 heading into the seventh.

After Jenks and senior Alayna Kabanuk singled in the top of the inning, Kampa came through with a two-run single to put the Flyers back on top 4-2.

The Bulldogs clawed back within one in the bottom of the frame, but senior pitcher Chloe Nelson closed the door to preserve the win.

Brummer, Conley, Jenks and Kampa collected two hits apiece, with Brummer hitting a double.

The Flyers will take on Albany, Thursday at 5 p.m. at Whitney Park in St. Cloud.

If Little Falls wins that game, the two teams will play again in a winner-take-all game later Thursday night for the section title and a trip to state.
