Swanville selects May Athletes of the Month

Tren Dinius, son of Janal and Allen Kruzel, is the Baseball Athlete of the Month. “Tren has a great attitude and is an even better teammate. He has continued to improve throughout the season both defensively and offensively,” said assistant coach Adam Gerads. “He has been one of the team’s best hitters over the last month. Tren was recently named as the Morrison County Record’s Boy Athlete of the Week. Keep up the hard work Tren.”

Lexi Loven, daughter of Jay and Heidi Loven, is the Softball Athlete of the Month. “Lexi has worked hard putting in many extra hours on her own in developing her pitching. She has gained a lot of confidence in herself and her teammates know they can depend on her as well,” said coach Tom Bzdok. “Offensively Lexi has significantly improved her batting. She has come through on several occasions with a big hit recently. As a result of hard work and determination, Lexi has significantly elevated her level of play from earlier this season. She is a good example of how you can improve with the right attitude, perseverance, and hard work. I’m proud of her.”

Paul Fruechte, son of John and Bonnie Fruechte, is the Boys Track Athlete of the Month. “Paul made the transition from distance runner at the start of the year to 400 runner and has done a nice job of it. He has also scored some points for us in the triple jump. We look forward to seeing what he can do with a full season as a sprinter next year,” said coach Pete Swisher.

Stephanie Koetter, daughter of Jerome and Mary Koetter, is the Girls Track Athlete of the Month. Swisher said, “Steph is our leading scorer in the field events placing regularly in the high jump an occasionally the long jump as well. She jumped 4-feet, 8-inches at the Prairie Conference track meet to score second place. We look forward to seeing if she can advance to sections in the high jump, as well as seeing what she can accomplish next year.”
