Annette Hughart

Annette Hughart passed away Sunday afternoon in San Diego, Calif., where she had lived since 1965. She was born in Little Falls in 1910.
Annette was the second child of William H. and Estelle Bastien. She was the sister of Vincent R. Bastien, Gertrude Sims, Ovid “Biddy” Bastien, R.A. “Tony” Bastien, David J. Bastien, and Billy Bastien, all former members of Local 73,  A.F. of M. She was married to F.L. “Fritz” Hughart.
She is survived by her brother, David of Circle Pines and her sons, Ted Hughart of San Diego and Jim Hughart of Los Angeles, also former members of Local 73.
She was a founding member of WAMSO. Although she stopped playing professionally when she married Fritz, she remained musically active as a highly accomplished accompanist until the mid 90s. She was also instrumental in establishing the Vincent R. Bastien Memorial Cello Scholarship.
