Walsh given 90 days for criminal sexual conduct with a minor

Robert George Walsh, 46, Pierz, was sentenced in Morrison County District Court with one felony count of fourth degree criminal sexual conduct with a victim between 16 and 17 years of age who had a significant relationship with him.

On May 14, 2011, The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an assault on a juvenile victim by a family member.

A deputy met with the victim who stated the assault by Walsh occurred at her residence. The deputy was shown bruising caused by pressure being applied by fingertips.

A formal statement was taken by a social worker. The victim told him Walsh was angry and followed her into her bedroom while he yelled at her.

Walsh then proceeded to assault her. She ran outside and when Walsh caught up with her, he began to choke her and impede her breathing. He then pushed her to the ground and caused the bruising.

Walsh was sentenced to to the Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud for 18 months, stayed for 10 years, and 90 days in jail. He was fined $135 and will have supervised probation for 10 years.

Dismissed against Walsh was one gross misdemeanor count of fifth degree criminal sexual conduct.
