To the Editor:
To Jerry Lochner and Lori Kasella, I request that the public hearing for the new sign ordinance, be moved to Monday, July 9, 2012, 6:30 p.m. instead of Monday, July 2, 2012.
The date you chose is right before a major holiday, when many residents travel, or have plans with family. It is not fair to hold this meeting when only a small portion of Little Falls residents will be able to attend. Because the holiday falls in the middle of the week, some residents will likely take the whole week off, or the first half to enjoy the Fourth of July.
It seems as though the city, to suit its own interest, has purposely chosen this date in an effort to bury this important meeting, in a direct attempt to keep the majority of residents from being able to attend. The sign ordinance has direct impact on free speech and every resident and business in Little Falls. I ask you to reconsider the interest of the common good and reschedule.
Fellow residents: If you agree, please call (320) 616-5500 now to complain. — Robin Hensel, Little Falls
