JO Softball: Little Falls, Pierz split doubleheader

The Little Falls Junior Olympics (JO) softball team topped Pierz 5-4 in the opening game of a doubleheader, June 28, with Pierz bouncing back to take the second game 19-4.

Alea Cekalla struck out five batters while allowing only four hits and no earned runs to pitch Little Falls to a win in the opener.

Helping her offensively with a pair of hits and two RBIs was Tristen Zimmerman.

Chantelle Anderson and Abby Thoma also picked up RBIs.

Pierz utilized an 11-run second inning to run away with the second game, making a winner out of pitcher Paige Reardon, who held Little Falls to two hits while striking out two.
