Florence L. Houle, 88

Florence L. Houle, a resident of Little Falls, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2012, at St. Gabriel’s Hospital in Little Falls.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, July 20,  at Holy Family Catholic Church in Belle Prairie with Father Joe Herzing officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

Florence L. Houle was born May 5, 1924, in Pike Creek Township, Morrison County, to the late Charles and Francis (Wludarski) Borash. She grew up in Pike Creek Township where she attended school in District #38. Florence was united in marriage to Ovid A. Houle June 28, 1945, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski, Minnesota. The couple purchased Ovid’s father’s farm in Belle Prairie Township where they farmed until 1968. Florence worked at the Coast to Coast Hardware Store in Little Falls for many years. Her husband, Ovid, died July 3, 1997. Florence continued to reside in Little Falls until her death. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Belle Prairie and the Christian Mothers. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening, Old Tyme music, watching the Minnesota Twins, bowling and traveling.

Left to cherish her memory is her brother, Florian Borash of Flensburg; sister-in-law, Patricia Borash of Little Falls and brother-in-law, Lennard Nelson of Little Falls and many nieces and nephews.

Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Ovid; her parents, Charles and Francis Borash; brothers, Dominick, Louis, John, Peter and Duane Borash; sisters, Cecelia Pasco, Elizabeth Doucette, Agnes Nelson, Lucille Karasch and an infant sister, Stella Borash.
