Upsala Schools are moving forward with revised positions and job responsibilities following the retirement of long-time business manager Ken Solarz.

Colleen Harren’s new three-year contract as head bookkeeper/administrative assistant was approved by the Upsala School Board at its regular meeting Wednesday. For the 2012-2013 school year, her salary will be $38,480; $39,520 in 2013-2014 and $41,600 in 2014-2015.

The hiring of Sherry Soltis as secretary/administrative assistant was approved, to fill responsibilities vacated by Harren’s move. Soltis’ starting salary is $9.90 per hour.

At the first School Board meeting since Solarz’s retirement, financial reports were presented in a new form. “It was just a different report showing cash balances,” said Harren. “Finding out what works best is part of the transition to a new person.”
