Jeanette was born Oct. 20, 1924, to the late Harry and Marie (Zimmerman) Ellgen in Lake Wilson. She grew up and lived in Lake Wilson and attended school in Lake Benton. She later moved with her family to Sioux Falls, S.D. There she worked at JC Penney and Hormel. On Sept. 10, 1947, she was united in marriage to Gilbert (Bud) Elbers. After seven years, the family moved back to the Buckman area, where they continued to farm. Jeanette worked for Gruber’s Market in Genola and later for Britz’s Store in Buckman. In 2006, they moved from the farm to Little Falls. Jeanette continued with her activities at the Dixville Church. She loved being with friends and family, and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
