Domestic assault puts Szczodroski in prison for more than two years

In the Seventh Judicial District Court of Morrison County, David Tyrel Szczodroski, 31, Rush City, was convicted July 26, of one felony county of domestic assault.

On Feb. 12, the Little Falls Police Department learned of a domestic assault committed by Szczodroski, who had a previous record of assault.

It was learned Szczodroski pushed his victim to the floor, grabbed a computer cord and wrapped it around the person’s neck. When another resident of the home told the two to be quiet, Szczodroski fled the scene.

A warrant was issued for his arrest.

Szczodroski was sentenced to the St. Cloud Correctional Facility for 26 months and fined $135.

Dismissed against Szczodroski was one felony count each of second degree assault with a dangerous weapon and domestic assault by strangulation.

Assistant County Attorney Todd Kosovich said the two charges were dropped due to the conviction on the felony domestic assault.
