Thank you letters, Aug. 19 issue

To the Editor:

Many thanks go out to Nicole and Joe Gross and family for bringing their black Percheron horses and wagon to the Mille Lacs Health System (MLHS) Long Term Care so residents could go on a hay ride. Nicole is an LPN at the MLHS clinics. Also helping was Eric Hanneken, who is chief of police in Pierz. The residents really enjoyed the fresh air and clip-clop of hooves while they traveled around the town of Onamia. — Shelly Hanneken, director of nursing, LTC, Mille Lacs Health System, Onamia

To the Editor:

On behalf of the Arc Midstate of Central Minnesota, I would like to thank everyone that donated to the 2012 Buddy Walk and Roll, to raise money to support individuals with disabilities and their families. August 15 was a great day. My goal was $800 and I exceeded it. Thanks so much. Looking forward to the 2013 Arc Midstate Buddy Walk and Roll. — Kaitlyn Maslowski, Little Falls

To the Editor:

Thank you to Scott of Thrifty River, Franciscan Sisters, volunteers (especially the Lambert family who hosted the garage sale and volunteered endless hours) and those who donated items for our fundraiser. The homeless pets of Morrison County, staff and board of directors truly appreciate you. — Trista Whitman, Morrison County Animal Humane Society, Little Falls

To the Editor:

Thank you to all of those who said “yes” to my request for greeters in the old school during this year’s Morrison County Fair. It’s an asset to have someone welcoming those who enter or to answer questions. Volunteers are the backbone of the school house project. Thank you to Hannah Moller, who won $5 for guessing the number of beans in the jar, and all of our visitors. — June Brutscher and Dorothy Lindquist, event coordinators, Little Falls
