Girls Tennis: LPGE/USA edges BBE 4-3 in season opener

The Long Prairie-Grey Eagle/Upsala-Swanville Area (LPGE/USA) girls tennis team knocked off host Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa (BBE) 4-3 to open up its season, Friday.
The top doubles team of seniors Abbey Schultz and Laura Geisenhof breezed to a 6-1 win in the first set before eking out a 6-4 win in the second set to win its first match of the year.
The third doubles duo of freshman McKenzie Barth and Abby Ecker sailed to a 6-0, 6-2 victory, with senior Nikki Szech and junior Brooklyn Levin recording wins in singles play.
