Girls Tennis: LPGE/USA drops a pair of 4-3 matches in tri

Long Prairie-Grey Eagle/Upsala-Swanville Area (LPGE/USA) won three matches in straight sets, but Minnewaska Area won all three super tiebreakers to edge the host Thunder 4-3 in the first match of a tri, Tuesday.

Sophomore Amanda Tschida and freshman McKenzie Barth dominated at No. 3 doubles, winning 6-1, 6-3, as did Ecker at No. 4 singles (6-2, 6-1).

Senior Jenna Abraham and junior Tori Roe also won for the Thunder (6-3, 6-4).

 

Cathedral 4, LPGE/USA 3

In the final match-up of the tri, St. Cloud Cathedral took three of four singles matches to hold off LPGE/USA 4-3.

Sophomore Alyssa Kulla and Barth outlasted their opponents 6-4, 5-7, 13-11 at No. 3 doubles.

The Thunder host a quad against Benson, Little Falls and Osakis, Friday.
