There’s a new rodeo coming to Little Falls Saturday, Sept. 15. Joe Varner Cattle Sales is promoting the event, which Varner hopes will become an annual presentation.
“My daughter, Jolaine, and her fiance, Jeremy Wagner, wanted to put on a rodeo and they talked dad into promoting it,” he said.
The rodeo will be held in the horse arena at the Morrison County Fairgrounds in Little Falls. Varner has arranged for many food and souvenir vendors to set up booths for viewers’ convenience.
The cowboys and girls will participate in bull riding, steer wrestling, saddle bronc and bareback riding and team roping. Other events include barrel racing, calf and break away roping and much more.
Children will be able to try their hand at mutton busting.
Varner has been able to get many local sponsors for this rodeo all throughout Morrison County. He said it will be a great event.
“After the rodeo, the food vendors will stick around because there will be live country music to enjoy,” he said. “To ensure good seating, get there early.”
Tickets are available at Rich Prairie Livestock in Pierz or at the gate the day of the event.
For more information, watch for ads in the Morrison County Record or for posters that will be placed throughout the county.
“This is great for the area, it will draw people from all over Central Minnesota and help boost business in Little Falls,” he said.
