The Little Falls girls soccer team was going to have a young lineup to begin with.

Now, they will also have to play without senior goalkeeper Amber Hines, who underwent season-ending surgery.

Regardless, head coach Marc Fritz looks for the Flyers to improve on last year’s 4-9-1 record and be more competitive throughout the schedule.

Helping the Flyers achieve that will be a group of returning starters that includes seniors Kaitlyn Durham and Katie Stewart, juniors Rachelle LeBlanc and Katie Yorek and sophomores Katelyn Staab and Jordan Schuett.

Also expected to contribute are seniors Stella Hecht and Chloe Houle, junior Kirsten Welinski, sophomore Scotti Jo Meyer and eighth grader Chelsea Moran.

The Flyers play at Hillcrest Lutheran Academy, Monday, with their home opener coming against St. John’s Prep, Sept. 6.
