Pierz senior Tarynn Kasper rips a crosscourt forehand during a rally at No. 1 singles against Pine City, Thursday. Kasper split a pair of matches on the day, including a key 6-3, 5-7, 9-7 win that lifted Pierz to a narrow 4-3 victory over Crosby-Ironton.
Pierz split a pair of narrow 4-3 matches in a home tri Thursday, defeating Crosby-Ironton and falling to Pine City.
Against Crosby-Ironton, the Pioneers prevailed with a pair of wins in singles and doubles play.
Senior Tarynn Kasper outlasted her opponent 6-3, 5-7, 9-7 at No. 1 singles and sophomore Kelsey Moulzolf dispatched her foe 6-2, 6-3 at No. 3 singles.
Junior Stephanie Brill and sophomore Shelbie Boser won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles and junior Emily Okroi and senior Becca Froelich won 6-4, 6-1 at No. 3 doubles.
